Glad you like it - that's also one of my favourites. It's from a service held in English in the Spanish town of Los Gigantes on Tenerife. The doors of the church opened onto a plaza with shops and cafés (I edited out the sound of my toddler son shouting out delightedly as he peeped his head into the church: "Party! party!"). I already used a bit of this recording in my performance piece 'The general case' with Jennifer Walshe last year. But you are also very welcome to use it in your song, if just you satisfy my curiosity by letting me hear it when you're finished, and credit me as appropriate if you're releasing it.

Hi. I love your field recordings, and I was hoping you would give me permission to use one in a song I am recording. It's the field recording of a church with people reciting a prayer.

Well indeed,
I'm familiar with Jacobs work - very interesting.

I made a piece in 1998 entitled 'In Search of a Japanese Sound' for P1 Lydmuren. All made out of 6 months worth of cheap mic and mini disc field recordings from all over Japan. I think its rather good myself. I can send it to you if you like.

But really I'd like to invite you to take part in a new festival - so please write to me!

Best
